Edward Damron, MSN
Edward received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, with a concentration in the adult gerontology acute care nurse practitioner discipline. He was inducted into the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International – Beta Phi Chapter, at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
During Edward’s undergraduate years, he conducted a pilot study with Huntsville Hospital Women and Children, which he was subsequently awarded Student Researcher of the Year by the Southern Nursing Research Society, a National Organization advancing Nursing Research. He was the first in the history of the College of Nursing at UAH to receive this honor. His research was later published by the American Journal of Infection Control.
Prior to attending college, Edward served his country honorably in the United States Air Force, and as a Combat Medic in the Army National Guard, with three successful deployments in support of Operation Desert Shield, Operation Desert Storm, and Operations New Dawn and Enduring Freedom.
Edward is board-certified as an adult gerontology acute care nurse practitioner with the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN). He is an active member with the Advanced Practitioner Society for Hematology and Oncology (APSHO), the North Alabama Nurse Practitioner Association (NANPA), and the American Nurses Association (ANA).
Edward joined Dr. Harry James McCarty III, MD at Alliance Cancer Care in 2017.
